An Industrial Electrician in a data center is a skilled tradesperson responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical systems, including power distribution, UPS, generators, and cooling systems, to ensure continuous, uninterrupted power for critical IT infrastructure. This role requires expertise in reading blueprints, performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting system failures, ensuring code compliance, and collaborating with other teams to support operations and emergency responses.

Duration 3-4 Months
$35/hr and $150 Daily per diem for DAYS WORKED
We are expecting to work day shift 60-70 hour weeks

Must be able to bend ridged pipe, install wire tray, wire 480v circuits, install MCPs, etc.
Key Responsibilities
Install, test, and commission new electrical systems, including power distribution units, switchgear, transformers, UPS, and backup generators.
Perform both scheduled and preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
Diagnose and repair malfunctions in electrical systems using appropriate testing equipment and technical documentation.
Keep accurate records of all maintenance performed, update logs, and create reports on system status.
Strictly adhere to the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and site-specific safety protocols, including procedures like lockout/tagout and arc flash protection.
Respond to power outages and system failures, often requiring participation in on-call rotations.
Work effectively with engineers, project managers, and other trades to ensure successful project completion and ongoing facility operation.
Required Skills & Qualifications
A strong background in industrial electrical work, with specific experience in mission-critical or data center environments, is necessary.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical diagrams, schematics, and technical specifications.
Skilled in using various electrical testing equipment for diagnostics and maintenance.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working in potentially hazardous environments.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
Data centers require constant power, so electricians must be prepared to work under pressure, often in time-sensitive situations.
